Quick overview of solution to problem:
Interpersonal skills and digital literacy help injured trades’ workers re-enter the job market.
Relatable summary to general problem:
A worker in trades, transport and equipment operations are 4 times more likely to get exposed to an on-the-job injury compared to those employed in an office setting (www.150.statcan.gc.ca). Once that injury occurs and they are no longer able to do physically challenging work, the employee must learn new skills in order to re-enter the job market in a different capacity that is not as strenuous. This is also known as upskilling, which is what enables you to be competitive in a new role.
