Case and Client Managers

Industry Category:

Insurance & Workers’ Compensation Agencies

Quick overview of solution to problem:

CCT bridges the gap between injury and re-employment through vocational interventions that upskill injured workers in digital literacy, transferable skills, and modern job readiness—empowering them to re-enter the workforce in new, sustainable roles.

Relatable summary to general problem:

Workers in trades, transport, and equipment operations are nearly four times more likely to suffer workplace injuries compared to those in office-based jobs (Statistics Canada). After an injury, many can no longer return to physically demanding roles—yet most are unfamiliar with how to transition to alternative careers.

The reality is that recovery is not only physical—it’s vocational. Injured workers must develop new skillsets to regain independence and professional purpose. That’s where upskilling becomes essential. Digital literacy, interpersonal communication, and professional adaptability are the most in-demand attributes for success in modern office roles. Without support, many injured workers remain stalled—unable to connect their past experience to future employment options.

Client Overview:

A provincial government agency responsible for supporting injured workers through recovery and re-employment. Their mandate includes providing access to health services, training, and job readiness programs to help clients transition into meaningful, sustainable careers.

The Challenge:

  • Deliver personalized, skill-based training to injured clients with little or no prior experience in administrative or office roles. These clients often lacked the digital fluency, communication skills, and professional confidence required to secure employment in today’s knowledge-based economy.

The Solution: CCT delivered a customized Vocational Intervention Program, combining assessment, upskilling, and employment readiness supports:

    • Initial Assessments: Each client completed a computer literacy and interpersonal skills evaluation to establish a skills baseline.

    • Transferable Skills Analysis: Identified how existing trade-based experience could apply to new office-based roles.

    • Customized Learning Pathways: Participants were placed in tailored courses suited to their knowledge and pace, covering Office Administration, Customer Service, Microsoft 365, and Digital Communication.

    • Small-Group & 1:1 Instruction: Certified facilitators provided hands-on, practical instruction in a low student-to-teacher ratio environment.

    • Workplace Readiness Projects: Participants completed real-world assignments and capstone projects simulating tasks in modern workplaces.

    • Labor Market Surveys: Analysis of job availability, wage ranges, demand levels, and qualifications needed—using data from job boards, employer interviews, and published stats
    • Ongoing Monitoring & Case Management: Each client’s progress was tracked to ensure readiness for job search, interview preparation, and re-employment.

Results:

  • 87% of participants successfully transitioned into their first office-based roles.

  • Clients demonstrated significantly improved confidence in using digital tools and navigating professional environments.

  • Marked improvement in workplace etiquette, problem solving, and verbal/written communication.

  • Insurance agency partners reported increased client independence, shorter return-to-work timelines, and higher satisfaction outcomes in post-injury recovery.

Quick overview of solution to problem:

Enhancing digital skills and community engagement helps marginalized youth gain confidence and job readiness.

Relatable summary to general problem:

Limited access to education and training, combined with a lack of digital skills and work experience, often leaves youth feeling isolated and disconnected from the broader community. Canada Career Training recognized the need to provide these youth with essential skills and resources, such as digital literacy and community engagement, to help break down these barriers and improve their job readiness.

Client Overview:

The organization is a nonprofit that serves marginalized youth in Edmonton, providing job and soft skills training, along with mentorship to help them gain confidence and succeed in their careers.

The Challenge:

  • Address the significant barriers faced by marginalized youth in accessing employment opportunities due to a lack of digital skills and community engagement.

The Solution:

  • Designed a comprehensive program that included digital literacy and soft skills training, and mentorship.
  • Pre-assessed youth to identify their level of digital literacy and job readiness.
  • Tailored the program to each individual’s needs, offering both in-person and online training options.
  • Provided ongoing mentorship and support to participants throughout the program and beyond.

Results:

  • Over 80% of program participants reported an increase in their confidence and job readiness.
  • Participants demonstrated significant improvement in their digital skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and online platforms such as social media and video conferencing.
  • More than 75% of program graduates secured employment or enrolled in further education and training within six months of completing the program.
